Bag Filters :
Why
Ecokleen Bag Filters?
Conventionally
in a
typical Dryer ,cyclone
is installed as
primary separating device followed by
a bag filter. Ecokleens
Cyclone cum bag Filters do away with two separate installations by
combining
actions of both .
A
conventional installation of a cyclone followed by
a
rectangular bag filter has following disadvantages
o
Pressure drop is more
...... thus fan power and hence energy cost is
increased.
o
Space required is more – increasing civil and structural cost.
o
Two point collection system – needs two separate packaging
areas (more manpower),
or
additional equipments (screw conveyor) to make
it single point collection (more energy bill).
Realizing
the above, Ecokleen has designed Cyclone cum Bag Filter that has very
less pressure drop, requires less space, and has single point
collection.
Working
Principle of Bag Filter and Cyclone cum Bag Filter

1.
The dust-laden air enters the cyclone chamber.
2.
The
dust /powder separates due to cyclonic action and then enters the bag
filter chamber.
3.
The
air is uniformly distributed avoiding channelling while the powder
separated by cyclone slides down from sides.
4.
Initially
a coat of material forms on the bags. Subsequently, the coat acts as the
filtering medium.
5.
The
dust is accumulated on filter elements while the air passes through the
filter bags from outside to inside.
6.
The
accumulated powder is dislodged from the bags by reverse pulsejet air
intermittently.
7.
The
dislodged powder falls on bottom cone and is discharged through powder
discharge valves.
8.
The
dust free air is sucked by induced draft fan and is exhausted to
atmosphere.
Knockers are provided on conical portion especially for
sticky/hygroscopic powders/dust.
